June 2017: Core Technology Ventures advised on the sale of leading robotics manufacturer.

About the Client:

With a reach of more than 3 meters and a cumulative bend of more than 180 degrees, OC Robotics’ flexible snake-arm robots are ideal for working in tight spots and can conduct various tasks including inspections, fastening and cleaning when integrated with tooling. OC Robotics is active in aerospace, nuclear, petrochemical, security and construction industries throughout North America and Asia.

About the Deal:

Core Technology Ventures acted as the exclusive corporate finance adviser on the sale of Oliver Crispin Robotics Limited and its subsidiary OCRobotics Ltd to GE Aviation Services.

CoreTec raised $2.5m towards Cella’s technology development programme.

Subscribers included Space Florida plus a number of other strategic investors.

CoreTec provided strategic advice including the identification of potential investors.
Raised Term Sheet for £1.5m through a combination of HNWI’s and NE UK focussed Investment funds.

Hydrogen Storage Materials


CoreTec raised the required seed finance for this spin-out from Rutherford Appleton Laboratories, Harwell. By appointment the UK’s Science & Technology Facilities Council.

CoreTec identified potential investors, e.g. non-UK regional financial institutions and facilitated introductions to and negotiations with providers of overseas offices/incubator support and grants.


Low-Powered transportable combined heat and power systems


CoreTec conducted a re-appraisal of St Andrews Fuel Cells Current Development Status and Technology Development Plans.


Tidal Generation


CoreTec identified potential investors, was instrumental in Pulse Tidal’s successful application for support from The Carbon Trust’s Incubator and introduced key member of staff.

We are is pleased to announce the successful completion of a 3year, 30-participant consortium of H2&FC industry stakeholders which won a 3 year, EU 4.5m project to audit Europe’s Hydrogen and fuel cell capability back in June 2005.

As well as Core Technology Ventures, the consortium includes: Airbus, Air Liquide, Air Products, Daimler Chrysler, Fiat (Centro Riecerche), Gaz de France, NorskHydro, The Kurchatov Institue, Risø, Volvo (Tech Research) and Ricardo Plc.

Fuel Processing Technology and Fuel Cell Systems Developer

CoreTec announces Dresdner Kleinwort’s flotation of fuel cell business IdaTech Plc in London (AIM: IDA) raising £17m.

Subsequent to CoreTec’s role in introducing Idatech LLC to Investec which resulted in a successful acquisition, CoreTec continued to support Investec with introductions to specialist investment banking & other flotation related advisers for IdaTech’s IPO. CoreTec also introduced IdaTech to the pre-eminent sector expert Dr. Alan Lloyd as a non-executive director. Dr Lloyd is the former Chairman of the Californian Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
